Iron Gate Restoration
Located at Park Nook in the Upper Park a fascinating gate has recently been restored by local Brailsford Ironcraft.
Dating from the early nineteenth century, the gate was discovered in its original position, in a state of disrepair thus providing an opportunity to put new life back into this very attractive feature in the landscape.
Miraculously the original latch has been reused after careful removal of thick rust. A new hinge was fabricated and the gate pivots as it was originally intended to.
From its position with far reaching views to the South we will host The Brailsford and District Ploughing Match in 2020.
